Steak n’ Shake disappoints

1695 Broadway
(between 53rd St & 54th St)
New York, NY 10019

On  a whim, I tried a cookies and cream milkshake from Steak n’ Shake.  It was my first time here and everything was reasonably priced.  For under $4, the milkshake seemed like a bargain!  In fact, Schnippers also serves a cookies and cream shake but it cost around $7!  So, gave it a try.

I’ll say that I hate myself for wasting calories on that shit.  It was disgusting.  It was made from very cheap frozen yogurt and very cheap Oreo knock-off cookies.  It was pretty unsatisfying and a waste of money.

It makes me think that if Steak n’ Shake is so cheap to use quality products in a milk shake (you know, like using real milk and real Oreos), I wonder what products the burger meat is made of…. But, if you’re looking for really cheap food, go here!

I hate Five Guys Burgers and Fries: Part 2

So the gift card was going to used today.  My girlfriend  went to Five Guys to use the gift card as I wanted Chipotle and it is right next door…  Turns out that the gift card sent didn’t have $10 on it.  The gift card had never had money on it to begin with (according to the Five Guys hotline)….  Gee, thanks for your wonderful customer service Five Guys.  And by the way Five Guys, fuck you.

I hate Five Guys Burgers and Fries

Living in Manhattan Valley — sucks when you don’t want to venture out and sit down at a restaurant for a meal.  Sure, you can go to a grocery store and slave over a stove.  You could even get a TV dinner and put it in the microwave, but the better option is probably delivery.

Today, I tried to order from the Five Guys listed above.  As a previous resident of Midtown West, I had frequented the Five Guys on 34th St. a number of times.  And while in the West Village, I have definitely hit up the Five Guys there to grab a quick bite a few times.  Well, this time, I tried the Five Guys on Broadway and 110th St. near Manhattan Valley.  At first, I tried to order online — with a gift card I had received from Five Guys “incident” from the same location….  To my dismay, I could not use the gift card to place my order online.  So okay, I decided to just give them a call to place my order.
First off, I was put on hold 3 times in order to place the order.  After finally giving my order, I told them I wanted to use the gift card to pay for half of my order…  OK — they would not accept the gift card over the phone!  Awesome.  I called the 800 number and nope — they would do nothing.  Ok — general tso’s chicken it is for tonight’s dinner.
But as I mentioned earlier, there was a previous “incident” at the same Five Guys for which I received the gift card in the first place.  I had ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries once before.  The order arrived with a variety of ingredients missing like ketchup, cheese.. bacon….  So I called them, and I was told that the restaurant was closing (AKA fuck you).  However, I was told that I could receive a free mean instead and to speak to the delivery supervisor, Alex.
One month later I went to Five Guys to claim my free meal and was told that Alex didn’t work there anymore (AKA fuck you and your free meal).  Gee Thanks!  Great customer service!  So I decided to call hotline.  The representative apologized and they send a $10 gift card after I had hassled them.  However, it looks like I won’t be redeeming this gift card or eating at Five Guys again.
In closing, Five Guys, fuck you.
